Barros Luco

Barros Luco is the Chilean name for a sandwich that is topped with beef and processed cheese .

The Barros Luco is available in many fast food outlets and restaurants in Chile as well as in the Argentine province of Mendoza bordering on Chile . It got its name because the Chilean politician and president from 1910 to 1915, Ramón Barros Luco, often ordered this dish, depending on the source either in the former restaurant of the former building of the Chilean National Congress or in his local pub in Santiago de Chile , the Confiteria Torres.

The sandwiches are offered in different variations, for example with beef ham or fillet, with different types of cheese and different types of white bread.
