Saraguro is a city in the Ecuadorian province of Loja and is the capital of the canton of the same name. Saraguro bears its name after the indigenous people of the Saraguros . At the 2001 census, the canton of Saraguro had 28,029 inhabitants, of which 3124 lived in the actual village of Saraguro.

In addition to its main town, the canton includes the urban periphery (4222 inhabitants in 2001) and the rural parishes of El Paraiso de Celén (2315), El Tablón (880), Lluzhapa (1758), Manú (4740), San Antonio de Quimbe (1232 ), San Pablo de Tenta (3502), San Sebastián de Yuluc (1046), Selva Alegre (2068) and Urdaneta alias Paquishapa (3142).
