Satin finishing (papermaking)

Satin finishing is a process used in paper production .

Papers for their intended use (. Eg Art Print) one possess low surface quality, get in a calender by a large number of heated steel casting rolls (calender rolls) a smooth surface (see: Satinagemulde ). Papers that go through the calender several times and thus have a very smooth surface are called highly satined papers. See also: Satinage .
