Scenic Railway at Dreamland Margate in Margate is a wooden roller coaster that opened on July 3, 1920. It is the oldest roller coaster in the United Kingdom and one of eight remaining "Scenic Railways" worldwide. Since a fire on April 7, 2008, which destroyed 25 percent of the railway, it was out of service until October 14, 2015.
The 910 m long track, the layout of which corresponds to a double out-and-back design, reaches a height of twelve meters. Since the train does not have any brakes, a so-called brakeman drives along, who has the task of regulating the speed of the train at all times.
