Sound bridge
In a double-shell construction (e.g. drywall ), a sound bridge is the interruption of the elastic intermediate layer (e.g. insulation material) by a rigid connection (e.g. metal profiles).
This connection - the sound bridge - is used to transmit structure-borne sound that is many times greater than the area of the sound bridge in relation to the overall construction. Likewise, stairs, ceilings or pipe systems that are not soundproofed can be used. B. Forward impact sound .
Another example is wall drilling.
