Switch distributor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Switching distributors are switching systems in telecommunications , which are set up between the main distributor and the cable distributors when the cable lengths are long .

They are used to provide alternative telecommunications network operators with access to the Deutsche Telekom AG network and enable them to offer end customers a broadband connection without having to connect each cable distributor individually. By order of the Federal Network Agency in March 2009, Deutsche Telekom was obliged to set up switchboards under certain circumstances. These were adjusted in July 2014; there is an obligation to set up switchboards if otherwise more than half of the connections in the supply area cannot be connected with at least 30 Mbit / s.
