history

The pusher , a one-wheeled wooden cart with which traders and farmers have been transporting their goods to the market since the Middle Ages, earned the town of Bischofswerda its nickname according to folk etymology . When organizing the first "Schiebocker Days of Modern Times" at the beginning of the 1990s, the organizers oriented themselves towards the tradition and naming of the Bischofswerda city festivals, which were held as open-air events on the city's market square around 1900 under the same name.
