Key cut

Key cuts are called the V-shaped cuts (notches) on the narrow side of the key . Their number and distribution correspond to the pin tumblers of the associated lock cylinder , their depth corresponds to the length of the associated core pins, so that the core pins are flush with the cylinder core diameter.
