Striking distance

Stroke distance or stroke distance is a term from sport and the military.

In the sporting sector, it describes the physical distance to the opponent from which he can achieve a successful hit, or the distance in a table or ranking list that makes a victory appear promising. In boxing , for example, someone is within striking distance who is so close to the opponent that he could hit the head or body with his fist. This also applies to karate.
