history

From 1412 to 1945 the Lords of Seebach lived in Großfahner . On behalf of Alexander Thilo von Seebach, a palace complex was built in the second half of the 17th century in place of the Großfahner moated castle , which was destroyed in the 1640s . The palace complex consisted of two sections, each with its own farm yard, as each of Seebachs' two sons was to inherit one of the parts of the palace. According to their roofing, the castles were called slate castle and brick castle. With the construction of the two castle portals in 1680, the locks with rich interior fittings were completed.

The Soviet military administration in Germany expropriated the Lords of Seebach and nationalized their property. On the basis of SMAD Order No. 209 , the locks, which were not damaged in the war, but their interiors were looted, were released for demolition.
