Castle Sostrup is a castle from the 17th century close to the Danish town Gjerrild .
history
The main building of Sostrup Castle was built between 1599 and 1606. From 1960 Sostrup Castle was a monastery with an attached retreat house. The nuns of the Cistercian order built a new monastery with their own monastery church southwest of the castle . In 2012 the Cistercian monastery was closed and Sostrup was sold to the siblings Kirsten and Anders Bundgaard on June 1, 2014, who set up a hotel and conference center there.
