Screwing tool

Screwdriving tool is the generic term for tools with which screws , nuts and related fasteners can be tightened or loosened. Screwdriving tools are one of the most important types in the field of hand tools .

A basic distinction is made between:

  • Tools that grip the screw , such as screwdrivers and screwdriver bits, hex keys, and the like
  • Tools that grip around the screw , such as wrenches (fixed or adjustable), socket wrench inserts with operating tools ("ratchets").

An important subtype of screwdriving tools are the torque wrenches for the controlled tightening of screws.
