Oath day

The Schwörtag was a day by the citizens of a city a solemn oath is filed ( oath of citizenship ). In the Upper German language area, it is known as the "homage day". The date and course of the day of the oath and the oaths to be taken were precisely defined by the authorities of a city in "oath articles".
