Lean gas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lean gas is the low-calorific product of gasification with autothermal energy supply (air gasification). Generally, the product of the gasification of a gasification substance with a gasification agent is referred to as gasification gas. The calorific value of the lean gas is between 3800 kJ / m³ (STP) and 7100 kJ / m³ (STP). The specifically produced fuel gas contains CO, H2, CH4, (2–7%) CO2 and 45–65% N2.

According to G. Wagener, lean gases have a lower calorific value. The term low calorific value gases (LCV - low calorific value - gas) includes gases from the biological-enzymatic, anaerobic decomposition of organic material such as sewage sludge and liquid manure ( digester gas , biogas ) or from landfill sites ( landfill gas ).
