Scientific use file

The term file for scientific use ( DWN ) or English Scientific Use File ( SUF ) denotes a file of research data infrastructure that is accessible for scientific purposes, and in a secondary analysis can be evaluated. Such files are usually only slightly anonymized.

The legal basis is Section 16 (6 ) of the Federal Statistics Act (BStatG) of 1987.
