Seraphin Uluhogian

Seraphin Uluhogian CMV (born February 14, 1890 in Bathli , Ottoman Empire , † May 16, 1965 ) was an Armenian Catholic religious chaplain and Abbot General of the Mechitarists of Venice .

Life

Seraphin Uluhogian joined the Congregation of Mechitarists of Venice at and received on 23 May 1915, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 22, 1960, Uluhogian became Abbot General of the Mechitarists of Venice and Pope Paul VI. appointed him titular archbishop of Chersonesus in Zechia . The Armenian Catholic Patriarch of Cilicia , Krikor Bedros XV. Cardinal Agagianian , ordained him episcopal on October 30th of the same year ; Co - consecrators were the retired Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo , Krikor Hindié , and the retired Armenian Catholic auxiliary bishop in Cilicia, Guregh Hovhannes Zohrabian OFMCap .

Seraphin Uluhogian attended the first, second and third sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
