Sex Machineguns is a Japanese speed metal band. Stylistically, the Sex Machineguns are characterized by a mixture of speed and power metal . Fast guitar solos and bass-heavy riffs are typical of the genre . The name is derived from the Sex Pistols : "[we] machineguns are more radical than [the] pistols".

biography

The Sex Machineguns emerged in 1996 as a small underground band that played in smaller clubs. As a result, they quickly gained a large fan base, went on tour and released their first live CD and video in 1997, which was sold out very quickly across Japan.

In 1998, with Sex Machinegun, their first commercial single was released by Toshiba-EMI, which also quickly sold out across Japan. The tickets for the following tour, like the single, were quickly sold out across Japan. The first album was released in September 1998, and by the end of 1998 the Sex Machineguns had played 62 sold-out concerts and topped the Japanese charts several times with singles and the album.

After 8 years with 10 released albums, the band announced in 2006 that they would take an “artistic break”. On March 26, 2006, all members left the band, except for Anchang, who has now released his second album under the band name "Sex Machinegun". The other members of the band have formed a side project called Elleguns .

On October 31, 2007, the single JACKY was released with a new line-up .
