Shanpula tombs
The Shanpula Tombs or Sampula Tombs ( Chinese 山 普拉 古墓 群 , Pinyin Shānpǔlā gǔmùqún ) are in the Lop district of the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region in western China on the southern edge of the Taklamakan .
The more than 2000 year old textiles discovered there attracted particular attention.
The graves have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-193) since 2001 .
