Shintarō Kago ( Japanese 駕 籠 真 太郎 , Kago Shintarō ; * 1969 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese manga artist . Frequent subjects of his stories, mostly of the Guro genre, are coprophilia , torture , extreme body modifications and mental illnesses .

He published his first comic book as a professional illustrator in 1988 in the magazine Comic Box . In the following years he focused on publications in pornographic manga magazines . In 1999 his satirical manga Kagayake! Daitōakyōeiken published by Ōta Shuppan . In this, Japan triumphed in World War II with oversized tanks in the shape of school girls. Numerous other book publications followed. For the mainstream manga magazine Young Jump he created the science fiction mangas Chōtennō Paratakushisu , Hannya Haramita and Occult byōtō 24-ji since 2001 . For the magazine Manga Erotics F he created the series Kijin Gahō from 2002 to 2003 , in which stories are told about people with a sadistic sense of collections.

His work has been exhibited twice (2006 and 2007) at the Vanilla Sky gallery in Tokyo. In April 2006 he organized the Unko Eigasai ( う ん こ 映 画 祭 ) film festival . In February 2008 one of his pictures graced the cover of Vice magazine .

His short story Rubik's Cube was published in June 2009 in the German anthology Orang .
