Siemens S4

The Siemens S4 is a Siemens mobile phone from around 1995 that only supports the D network at 900  MHz ( P-GSM ) with the full-rate codec .

properties

The S4 is characterized by good reception quality with poor radio coverage, but the suppression of double propagation limits the device in comparison with modern GSM devices. The device has a high power consumption compared to today's cell phones.

Features

The device has a hidden monitor mode that can be activated with a special key combination. Another feature is the extendable antenna , which, when fully extended and locked in place (only then is contact made with the antenna), enables a significant improvement in reception. Apart from phone calls and SMS traffic, the device does not offer any additional functions worth mentioning.

equipment

A hands-free kit with an external antenna for use in a vehicle was offered as an original accessory. The charging cradles that hold the device upright and charge the battery via spring contacts are also helpful . Additional exchangeable batteries can be charged directly on the charging cradle.
