Sint-Joseph

Sint-Joseph is a flour mill in the municipality of Nederweert (district Kreijel) in the Dutch province of Limburg .

The construction of the mill was commissioned by a group of 20 farmers in 1839 and built by (Jan) Mathijs Breukers . In 1866 the mill was sold to Mathijs Geussens . At the beginning of the 20th century, the owner at the time, Peter Jan Joosten, installed a suction gas engine with a gas generator in order to be able to grind even when there was no wind. This installation was later replaced by an electric motor. Sint-Joseph was still in operation as a flour mill until 1970. The mill was restored between 1978 and 1979.

The wings of the mill are almost 25 meters long (wingspan). The mill is equipped with two millstones . Sint-Joseph is owned by the municipality of Nederweert and can usually be visited on Saturdays and Sundays.
