Seat ticket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sitzschein is the slang term for a group of certificates of achievement at universities .

function

The students are thus certified that they have attended a course and the exam is deemed to have been passed. A real check of the learning success either does not take place at all or at most in the context of subsequent exams in other subjects. It is true that in individual cases - as in school - “oral cooperation” may be required. In contrast to an oral or written examination, however, no transparent and documented criteria have to be created.

subjects

Seat tickets are occasionally common in the humanities and social sciences, but they are rejected in the natural sciences and are often even forbidden by examination regulations ("No certificate without performance"). Although the "paper receipts" disappeared with the advent of electronic examination databases around the turn of the millennium, the word has been used as a term for courses without an examination.
