Socialist Equality Party (Sri Lanka)

The Socialist Equality Party ( Sinhala : සමාජවාදී සමානතා පක්ෂය, Tamil : சோசலிச சமத்துவக் கட்சி) is a Trotskyist party in Sri Lanka .

The SEP was founded in 1968 under the name Revolutionary Communist League and is the Sri Lankan section of the International Committee of the Fourth International . Wije Dias has been its general secretary since the early death of its founder Keerthi Balasuriya (1948–1987) . Deepal Jayasekera is Deputy General Secretary and National Editor-in-Chief of the party organ.

The literary critic Piyaseeli Wijegunasinghe , who died in 2010, was a member of the party.
