Socialist Workers Party (United States)

The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) is a Trotskyist- oriented communist party in the United States of America . It was founded in 1938 and was one of the founding organizations of the Fourth International . Until the 1980s, it was the largest organization on the radical left in the United States, with almost 1,000 members.

The SWP's candidate for the US presidential election from 1948 to 1960 was Farrell Dobbs . In 1976 Peter Camejo ran for election and received over 90,000 votes. In the 2008 presidential election, Róger Calero ran as Vice President Alyson Kennedy.
