Solingen thin section

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Solingen thin section is a principle according to which knives are made. The grinding angle is set higher than with conventional knives. As a result, the blade is ground very thin and tapers towards the cutting edge of the knife. A well-known example of the Solingen thin section is the "windmill knife". Today this type of cut is hardly practiced even in Solingen.
