Song of our World

Song of our world is a Berlin music festival. It took place for the first time on July 9, 2006 on the main stage of the FIFA Fan Mile in Berlin .

The initiators, the Angels of Berlin, asked the cultural attachés of 20 countries to contribute a stanza for children and young people in their own language to the Song of our World as part of their youth work .

The song

In the Song of our world messages for peace and more tolerance are sung in the national languages ​​of all participating nations. All children sing the refrain together:

We are - children of love, here on earth
We sing everywhere in the world
We are - kids of all nations, in our common world
We love to live in harmony

The choir

In the Song of our world choir, which comprises around 150 international children and young people, many school and church choirs, but also individual interested children and young people, took part. I.a. the following choirs and groups took part:

The nations

In total, children and young people from over 18 nations took part. The following is an overview of all countries whose stanza was represented in the Song of our world :

Denmark, Germany, France, Ghana, Great Britain, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Korea Republic, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey.

It is under the patronage of the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit .
