Späting (patrician family)
The Späting family ( Spetin, Spätig ) was a Bernese patrician family , which had been a citizen of the city of Bern since around 1450 and expired in 1756 in the male line.
A farrier, Niklaus Späting, appears in a document in 1464 as sat in Bern. The Späting belonged to the Gesellschaft zum Mohren and the Gesellschaft zum Schiffleuten . Several family members were grinders in the 16th and 17th centuries .
