Spasmodique
Spasmodique is an alternative underground rock band from Rotterdam , which - with a few breaks - has existed since 1981 and has also been able to build a fan base with tours through Europe.
history
After a long creative break, Spasmodique released the CD “From Villa Delirium” in 2002 and in 2002/2003 the band did a successful tour in the Netherlands. In February 2005 the breakup of Spasmodique was announced, but in 2012 the group gave two more concerts.
2016 brought the next comeback with several concerts in the Netherlands, the new long player "From Villa Delirium" and the extensive box set "All and more"
Only band leader Mark Ritsema drew attention to himself between the Spasmodique breaks with other bands and projects: 'Raskolnikov' and 'Cobraz' and the 'Polar Twins' were just a few of many projects.
music
The American vinyl specialist Midnight Records calls the music "Dutch Industrial Rock": Heavy (bass) guitar-heavy, almost depressive sounds underlaid with the deep voice of lead singer Mark Ritsema.
