Species 360

Species 360 ( Spelling : Species360 ), formerly ISIS ( International Species Information System ), is a Bloomington, Minnesota , nonprofit organization founded in 1973 that maintains and archives data on animals in zoos and aquariums and related organizations and makes available. It can be used, for example, to find animals genetically distant from one's own animal in breeding. In 2008, 735 institutions in 74 countries on six continents were members. The organization also serves as a center for the joint development of zoological software.

Projects

One project is the software Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS, "Zoological Information Management System") that can be used locally or via the Internet . In 2006 version 2 of the software interface was documented.
