Feed water tank
A feedwater tank is a mostly heated container in which the feedwater for a steam boiler is stored and processed. The feed water pumps suck in the water from the container and bring it to the pressure of the steam generator.
The feed water tank must fulfill the following task:
- Storage
- Degassing of the water
- Conditioning the water
- Tempering the water
Components of the feed water tank
- Water level measurement
- Pressure transducer
- Temperature sensor
- Safety valve or rupture disc
- Vacuum breaker
- Thermal insulation
- Degasser
- Steam heating
- Heating coils for external heating
- Overflow
- Standpipes analogous to ÖNORM B 8132
- Bearing saddle
- Ladders and platforms
