The mirror grotto is located on the Museumsberg in Flensburg . It was founded around 1823 on behalf of the West India merchant Andreas Christiansen jun. built. It was renovated from 2008 to 2009. It is an underground octagonal central building with pointed arches, which was formerly lined with 13 mirrors to make the chamber look infinitely large. It is speculated whether this building was used for cults of Freemasonry in Flensburg .
