Track correcting bearing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Toe-correcting bearings are specially shaped rubber bearings used in torsion beam axles in automobiles , which reduce the axle's tendency to oversteer under lateral forces.

State of the art are inclined bearings which convert a slight elastic transverse movement of the axle body caused by the transverse forces when cornering into a rotation around the vertical axis. The oversteering steering angles caused by rubber mounts and component elasticities are thus reduced.
