Squash Racket Club Winterthur

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Squash Racket Club Winterthur (SRCW) is a squash club from the city of Winterthur , which was founded in 1983.

The club's women's team plays in the National League A and has already been Swiss Interclub champions five times (2002/03, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2011/12 and 2014/15). The men's team currently plays in National League B, after the team was relegated in 2014 after a year-long stint in the top division.

Since 2009, the SRC Winterthur has merged with the Young Devils Winterthur (youth club) and the Squash Club Seuzach to form “Squash Winterthur” - these affiliated clubs have a joint board under the name “Squash Winterthur” and organize joint events - but the individual ones remain Clubs continue to exist. The home of all three clubs is the Squash Center Ohringen . The SC Seuzach was originally founded in order to be able to provide more than one NLA team within the squash center and has only existed on paper since the 2012/13 season, as all teams are now starting again for the SRCW due to the loss of players.

The SRC Winterthur is not to be confused with another top squash club for women from Winterthur, the Eulach Squash Club Winterthur . This was founded in 2006 by a former member of the SRCW.
