Stand-up

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the (East) Swabian region of Germany, a stand refers to a cozy get-together where small things can be served to eat and drink. A stand-up is often carried out after other events, such as church services or lectures, but non-formal standing together is also referred to as a stand-up in an operational context. The informal setting and eating and drinking together while you can exchange ideas are important. A stand takes place while standing, hence the name.
