The Catholic parish church of St. Peter in Westum , a district of Sinzig in the district of Ahrweiler ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built in 1845/46. The architect was Ferdinand Nebel . The church at Turmstrasse 7 is a protected architectural monument .

history

Since the old church was declared dilapidated in the same place , the community decided to build a new church in 1841. The ceremonial laying of the cornerstone took place on 17 July 1847th During the construction period, the service was held in the old tower that had been preserved.

The church made of rubble stones , consecrated to St. Peter , is a three-aisled hall church with four axes . Since the tower was badly damaged by a storm in 1865, a new tower was built in 1868/72 according to the plans of the Koblenz architect Hermann Nebel , son of Ferdinand Nebel. In 1932 two sacristies were added to the choir .

Leaded glass window

The lead glass windows were installed in 1923 by the Oidtmann glass painting company in Linnich .
