St. Walpurgis is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Helmstedt in Lower Saxony .

The church was once the parish church of the village of Strevelingerode, which belonged to the St. Ludgeri monastery at the end of the 10th century . It was first mentioned as a chapel in 1160. As early as 1220, the church was included in the urban area of ​​Helmstedt with the construction of the city wall. With the introduction of the Reformation, St. Walpurgis was no longer used as a parish church, but as a side church of St. Stephani in Helmstedt, so that from then on baptisms and weddings no longer took place here.
