The State Institute of Theater and Cinematography Yerevan (YSITC) ( Armenian Երեւանի թատրոնի եւ կինոյի պետական ինստիտուտ ; English Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography ) is a state Department of Theater and Film Arts in Yerevan , capital of Armenia .
history
The institute was founded in 1944 as the Institute for Theater Arts , renamed the Institute for Theater and Visual Arts in 1952 and the State Institute for Theater Arts Yerevan in 1994 . It has had its current name since 1999.
Faculties
The institute has three faculties (as of 2019):
- Faculty of Theater
- Faculty of Cinema, Television and Animation
- Faculty of Art History, Art Theory and Art Management
