The Stan Matthews trick is a classic maneuver when dribbling in soccer .

This trick made famous by the Right Wing Stanley Matthews of England team who could run faster the maneuver due to its ball-control and maneuverability than any other.

The Stan-Matthews trick is based on running towards the opponent with the ball at his foot and shifting your weight in such a way that the opponent is unbalanced, whereupon the player in possession of the ball can pass on the other side. The weight shift is carried out several times in quick succession, where the ball is also placed from the left to the right foot and vice versa.

It is a fundamental means of dribbling; The decisive factor for success is the ball security of the attacking player and his agility. Stanley Matthews was so remarkable as a right winger because his repertoire in duels consisted almost exclusively of this elementary stylistic device - but at a speed that remained and remains unattainable for most footballers. Matthews could perform the maneuver as many times in a row without the defender being able to get the ball by fair means.
