Center for Psychiatry Bad Schussenried

The ZfP Südwürttemberg has its headquarters in Bad Schussenried. In 1996 the Center for Psychiatry Bad Schussenried , formerly the State Psychiatric Hospital Schussenried , the Münster Clinic in Zwiefalten and the Center for Psychiatry Weissenau were merged to form the ZfP Südwürttemberg. The Bad Schussenried site is located on the grounds of the Schussenried Monastery .

history

The Royal Sanatorium Schussenried was founded in 1875 on the premises of the New Monastery .

Between 1940 and 1941 561 patients and residents were transported to Grafeneck and Hadamar via Schussenried and murdered as part of the T4 campaign . Since 1983 a memorial plaque in the prison cemetery has been commemorating the murdered.

From 1953 the facility was called the State Psychiatric Hospital, from 1996 the Center for Psychiatry, and from 2009 it is the Schussenried location of the ZfP Südwuerttemberg.
