Star method
The STAR method is a native of the United States formal interview technique for job interviews to get to comprehensive information on the skills and behavior of a candidate in a particular situation context. The acronym STAR stands for situation, task, action and result , translates for example situation, task, action and result.
method
The survey technique comprises the following four points:
- Situation: A concrete description of the situation with its framework conditions, which is the starting point.
- Task ( task ): What is the goal you want to achieve in the situation or which task should be solved?
- Action ( Action ): What actions you have set to achieve the goal? What alternatives did you consider? Why did you choose a certain action?
- Result ( Result ): What was the concrete result of your actions? Did you achieve the goal? What did you learn from the situation?
