The possession of the start book is one of the admission requirements for tournament couples (individual competitions) or individual dancers formation dancing in the field of dance . The start book must contain a start card with a start stamp valid for the current year and is valid for one of the following sections:

The judges and tournament directors / assessors also have a similar license certificate in the form of a booklet, only this is gray.

Entries in the start book

All tournaments in which the couple or formation actively participates are recorded in the start book . In addition to the date, host and type of tournament, the respective tournament management records the placement at the tournament and, in the case of individual competitions, also the number of points achieved at the tournament and the total promotion points as well as the next starting class. In the case of single pairs , in addition to the mandatory men's start book, the lady can also have her own (blue) start book in which entries are made in the same way about the tournaments completed.

The first page of a start book must be stamped with the club. Furthermore, the name of the state dance sport association and, in the case of single couples, the partners must be entered in chronological order. In the case of formations , a passport photo of the start book holder must also be firmly attached to the start book.

Start card and start token

For tournament couples, the name of the man, the name of the woman, the dates of birth, the nationality of both partners as well as the club for which the couple is starting and the name of the associated national dance association are entered on the start card.

In the case of formations , the name of the owner, the club membership, the formation name and the nationality of the owner can be found on the start card.

The starting ticket must be purchased again every year and stuck in the space provided on the starting card.
