Star tail
Star Tail is a series of horse books by Linda Chapman . The story is about a girl named Laura who wants nothing more than her own horse. And this is exactly what she wants when she moves to the country with her parents and her younger brother. And when she finds out that her new pony, Star Tail, is actually a unicorn , a dream comes true for her. From now on she rushes from one adventure to the next with Star Tail.
In the English-language original, the series only includes volumes 1–15. All of the following German volumes are penned by various other authors and ghostwriters.
Characters
Laura Foster moved to the country with her parents and now has her own pony called the Star Tail, which is actually a unicorn. Her greatest treasure besides Star Tail is a book called "History of the Unicorns", in which she found the magic spell with which she could turn Star Tail into a unicorn.
Startail may look like a neglected, gray pony, but it's actually a unicorn. When he was one year old, he left the magical realm of Akardia and lived on earth from then on. For a time it belonged to Jade, who didn't know what to do with him. So her father put star tail up for sale. Laura was immediately enthusiastic about it and asked her mother to buy it.
Mrs. Fontana owns a bookstore in town, and her terrier Walter is always with her. She used to have a unicorn herself. It was also she who gave Laura the book "All About Unicorns". When Laura has problems or questions about the unicorns, she usually drops in to Mrs. Fontana. But suddenly Mrs. Fontana dies and leaves Laura with the task of "keeper of the secrets" and her dog.
Mel is a friend of Laura's. Her pony is called Silver. Silver was initially afraid of jumping over obstacles, so Jade often laughed at Mel. But together with Star Tail's help, Silver was able to overcome his fear.
Jessica is a friend of Laura's. At first she didn't get along with her stepsister Samantha, but now they even have a pony together named Sandy.
Samantha is Jessica's stepsister and a friend of Laura's. She and Jessica own the pony Sandy.
Grace is a friend of Laura's. Her parents have a riding stable. She owns a unicorn named Night Wind herself.
Jo-Ann is Grace's best friend and a friend of Laura's
Michael also has a unicorn. He found out with the help of Laura.
Jade is Star Tail's previous owner. She quickly lost interest in him and didn't realize that he was actually a unicorn.
Mr. and Mrs. Foster are Laura's parents. Mrs. Forster has another baby in a volume (book). Mrs. Foster's first name is Alice.
Max is Laura's younger brother. He owns a Bernese Mountain Dog named Buddy.
Sophie is the name of Laura's little sister.
Hanna is Laura's cousin.
From volume 18, Walter is Laura's dog. It used to belong to Mrs. Fontana.
