Stickout ( German "free wire electrode length" ) is an English technical term in welding technology, in particular MSG welding . The term is z. B. in ISO TR 25901: 2008 and CEN TR 14599: 2005.
The German term "free wire electrode length" describes the distance between the gas nozzle and the end of a wire electrode. In German-speaking countries, the term is often confused with the term free wire electrode extension, which describes the distance between the current contact tube and the wire electrode end.
