The Stjernen is a historic Norwegian royal yacht from 1899 that was in service until the German occupation of Norway in 1940.

history

The steam-powered ship was built at Akers mekaniske Verksted in Oslo on behalf of King Oskar II . Shipyard building number 189 was launched in 1899. The hull is 17 meters long and 3 meters wide. The crew consisted of 4 men: 1 officer and 3 sailors.

At the end of the war, the yacht was cannibalized and in such poor condition that it was sold. Some enthusiasts took over the ship in the 1990s, established a foundation and the Marinemuseets Matroser completely restored the stars . She was brought back to the water in 2001. The Norwegian king used the stars again on various official occasions.
