Strange Stories ( Japanese昔 久 街 の ロ ジ オ ネNatsukachi Machi no Rozione ) is a collection of short manga stories by the Japanese comic artist Sumomo Yumeka . The four stories are about people who have to deal with unusual situations and then decide between the path of the heart or that of reason. They are aimed primarily at young girls, so they can be assigned to the Shōjo genre.

action

Good old Rozione (昔 久 街 の ロ ジ オ ネNatsukachi Machi no Rozione ): Himeyuka is a 17 year old girl who lives alone. Her mother keeps sending her parcels with old things from her childhood, including a parcel with a ghost doll. Himeyuka throws everything in the trash, exasperated. One day she finds a little boy in her apartment who apparently knows her and who wants nothing more than that she play with him. The boy introduces himself as Rozione.

The noodle soup princess : Fifteen-year-old Hime is the daughter of a yakuza boss and after his death she is supposed to marry a boy from another clan in order to secure the supremacy of her clan. But she fell in love with a simple seventeen-year-old noodle soup cook and is now torn between fulfilling her duty and feeling.

My Shalala : The witch Shalala is an imperfect witch because her father was human. To become a perfect witch, she needs a human boy's tear, the boy she sees first. This is the high school student Ueno, a relatively reserved boy. Disguised as a boy, she tries to approach him to steal a tear from him. But soon her scruples come.

Robots : After a huge war, humanity only reproduces through clones, whereby only people who are considered valuable are allowed to regenerate. So that society can keep going despite everything, there are robots that support the clones. One of these robots is Yamato, who begins to develop emotions.

reception

In the AnimaniA one called the manga in 2007 as thought-provoking. The first three stories - good old Rozione , The Noodle Soup Princess and My Shalala - are coherent and entertaining despite their brevity. “However, the last story demands a high level of concentration from the reader and, with its philosophical approach, is certainly not for everyone.” The drawing style was compared with that of Kazumi Yuana .
