A fall bunker (also known as a receiving bin ) is part of the storage technology for bulk goods such as onions or potatoes . Some fall bunkers are also used on the edge of the field for loading onto trucks.

The crop is filled into the box-shaped device with tipping trailers . The floor consists of a wide conveyor belt. This speed-controlled conveyor belt allows the crop to be dosed to other processing technology such as B. picking tables, pitting devices or grinders.

technology

The large collecting container enables the delivery vehicle to drive back to the field after a short time. For transport, all fall bunkers are designed as trailers with axles and a drawbar (which can be dismantled for operation). Rubber mats on the filling side prevent damage if they come into contact with the tippers, and on the other hand they keep the crop safely in the bunker. The acceptance width is usually 3 meters, so that no precise maneuvering and no grain pusher are necessary. The belts are driven electrically. As a rule, drop bunkers are filled by rear tippers.
