Supraphon is the largest Czech record label , known for its cooperation with numerous important Czech and foreign artists. The label was registered in 1932. Today, over 100,000 sound recordings are kept in its archive . According to its own statements, Supraphon is the only label in the former Eastern Bloc that has survived the political and economic transformation and is now the market leader. It operates as a stock corporation. Until the beginning of the 1990s, Supraphon also sold its productions in its own branches.
