The Synagogue Church of all Nations in the metropolis of Lagos , Nigeria (also SCOAN or " Synagogue "), is a church that was completed in 2004. Opposite the church is an area with its own guest house for accommodation. In addition, there are large tents there to accommodate visitors when the church is overcrowded.

Location and surroundings

The church is located in the middle of the former Ikotun-Egbe catchment area of ​​the city west of Lagos Airport . This region of the city is characterized by poverty. The traffic connection is actually good, but due to the bad traffic situation (traffic jams) there are long delays.

The building, built in the modern style, has a concrete foundation with concrete walls. It consists of a long hall and has two wings at the ends for accommodating guests and for the Emmanuel TV channel. The facade consists of stones which are decorated with ornaments, with numerous windows and colorful tiles. In front of the building there is an alley of palm trees, in the church there is wall painting, colorful tiles in red, yellow and blue with lettering cover the floor. Stone decorations in the building are provided with inscriptions. In the church, for example, the statutes "Jesus Christ receives repentant Souls" can be seen as writing in the picture . The massive church takes up about 3 soccer fields; it is about 10 meters high.

A guest house exists, one has collapsed, which were built in the so-called "Mercy Land", as well as the superstructures on the accommodation structures at the ends of the church.

History of origin

The church was built in the years after the turn of the millennium and was probably completed in 2004. Before that there was a lower structure in the same place, which mainly consisted of a steel-wood construction. The cost of building the parish is unknown.

On September 14, 2014, a church guest house collapsed. In addition to 124 rescued people, 115 were killed, of which 84 were South Africans registered. The incident created tension with  South Africa . The cause of the collapse is still unclear.

The construction companies' engineers have been charged with negligence in the Ikeja High Court and a verdict is expected in late 2017.
