System Average Interruption Frequency Index

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) is the average frequency of interruptions in a supply network.

The SAIFI shows how often a consumer is affected by an interruption on average per year. The SAIFI is calculated from the ratio of the total number of interruptions to the total of consumers. The measurements take place over a certain period of time, usually one year. The SAIFI value is given in the unit 1 / a.
