from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Turkish loan words in Armenian are words in the Armenian language borrowed from the Turkic languages .

The vast majority of words borrowed from various Turkic languages are in those Armenian dialects that are geographically close to the Turkish-speaking regions. These are primarily the Armenian dialects spoken in Istanbul .

In contrast, the influence of the Turkish languages on the literary language is small. Both versions of the literary Armenian language contain very little Turkish loanwords.

The Aschik language contains a lot of dialect as well as Turkish and Iranian loanwords.
